US Players - SOPA and PIPA.

Postby [Rn]Kalimah » Tue Nov 29, 2011 5:24 am

The so-called Stop Online Piracy Act and Protect IP Act are being discussed right now in our government. These pieces of legislature could/will pave the way for government and corporate censorship of many of the websites that we all love.

More information can be found here; ... -a-ruckus/ ... -campaign/

I've already written my Congressman to voice my opposition to this legislature. If you are opposed to SOPA and PIPA, please do the same.

Although I'm not from US, I've been following the news on this with some interest. It seems to me that this can turn into a global issue. Anyways, it was mainly techdirt that I followed: ... deas.shtml

Not from US either but might as well participate. Stupid idea, you'd have to be a complete idiot to think that's the way to go - but there seems to be plenty of those so who knows... Anyway, you can't really censor internet (just ask China) and instead of trying to hold back the advancement of technology they should just embrace it (I love Spotify). History is filled with business models that became obsolete thanks to new technology - when was the last time you saw someone selling ice so you could store your food properly? Either get on with the program or get left behind - aren't Americans supposed to love free market, after all? If your shitty business model isn't working, you go out of business and someone with a better idea will take your place...
