Is That a Raft Over There?
Posted by: Kokanee on Saturday, May 02, 2009 - 12:30 PM (35 Reads)
Kokanee - Sovereign Knight So it is Friday night and after a good troll smashing the Fedaykin (Chersk) puts out the call to go raid the human land. Dagger Fella, Saidrin Rumblefumbler, Kogar Facebreaker, Dest Locke, Kokanee Ice and Chersk Bloodthirst geared up and headed out.

For the first while it felt like we were taking revenge on all the times we had been killed hunting goblins, as we ruined the time of a number of humans and had a hit our favorite towerless wilderness bank to load up a goblin bag.

We continued on following Chersk through different spawns until we hit the water heading to one of the islands and someone says, is that a raft over there?

Glory be it is a raft over there with three people on it. We dive under the water and start heading over, as we run out of air we pop up and start firing arrows. At first the rafters were all happy, feeling safe and in control, as they turned away from the nearby tower. It didn't take long though before they were filling up with arrows and making a mad dash for the protection of the friendly tower. One, two and then finally the last of the sailors fell, leaving a lonely raft floating just inside tower range. Dagger Fella made a gallant attemt to drive it out, but fell to the tower, but he managed to get it a bit closer to safety. Saidrin was next to throw his body into harms way and though he fell as well he got it out far enough that the raft was able to be driven to safety and TFK was plus one raft.

We headed back to the wilderness bank and low and behold a couple of dwarves are there, just looking to hand over a few hours of hard earned golbin loot. After we fill up the goblin bag again and tuck the mount away we are off again. A few Hamlets and an escape of a bees nest later we rolled upon and group of miners, not the first of the night, but these were different in that they were geared and jumped on mounts. We gave chase and after a bit of a haul took one down. It must of been the right one as he had lots of shiny armour, a number of picks and four mounts. We worked our way home after with our "hard" earned booty.

Darkfall is good :)

Gnome saves Dwarf
Posted by: Balton on Friday, April 24, 2009 - 10:55 AM (19 Reads)
World of Warcraft News Despite patch 3.1 the 29's are alive and well. We continue to have good competition, it has only become a higher speed blood and guts spill fest.

True story!

While in the battlegrounds with (tfk board names) Darb, Kiagonn, Corino, Trogdoor, and Tattwo: Darb noticed I was not using my usual supply of heal pots to keep myself alive during skirmishes.

I get a call over vent from Darb, "HEY Doc, why dont you use a pot" to which I replied, "I ran out, no mats". Darb states, "well comere, HOLD STILL, got something for you". To which of absolutely no surprise to me in the trade window is dropped the smallest possible heal potion available in the game. Guild chat is quickly filled with a stream of laughter by Darb and me laughing back in vent saying, "how did I know?". Darb quickly shoots back "HEY, that will save your life!" and everyone continued to laugh over the event.

Not too long after that transpired I was in a 1 on 1 with a horde pally and it was coming to the final blows of combat, him or me him or me? I saw the pot, rolled my eyes, quaffed it just enough to survive the blood rage and pushed the execute button. It was enough to pwn the pally past his buffs and remaining hit points to leave me standing at 5 health.

Myself having no ego whatsoever blasted over the vent channel, "Oh MY God, it saved my life, I'm at 5HP and bandaging!". Needless to say this lead to the barrage of Darb shouts "I TOLD YOU! I TOLD YOU THAT $#!4 WOULD SAVE YOUR LIFE!".

He later gave me several stacks of our levels healing pots but it sparked some good fun and deep laughter amongst those in channel. Goes to show there is still great team work, guild support and camaraderie in the 29's. ROLL ONE TODAY, you know you want to!

Fav X and Chersk Bloodthirst Join the DF Leadership Group
Posted by: Kokanee on Thursday, April 23, 2009 - 03:54 PM (25 Reads)
Kokanee - Sovereign Knight After a bit of turbulence an expanded TFK leadership group is ready to push forward. We now have a simular system as in the past, with Supreme Commanders to give full in game coverage, suplimented by three Generals, in the past could be seen as Council members, who have specific roles.

Dest Locke - Supreme General
Injection HB - Supreme General
Wolfen Silva - Supreme General

Fav X - General - Blademaster (Recruitment Officer)
Kokanee Ice - General - Treasurer
Chersk Bloodthirst - General - Fedaykin (PvP Coodinator)

Fav X and Chersk Bloodthirst (Thry) have accepted offers of leadership and will be taking on the roles of Blademaster and Fedaykin respectfully. Both have their own thoughts on how they would like to influence TFK and I look foward to what they bring to the table.

Now that we have a full leadership group we are looking at a guild meeting where we can get feed back on our ideas for moving forward and members can express their own thoughts and ideas on what path TFK should take.

See you all out there.

Dest Locke is Supreme
Posted by: Kokanee on Friday, April 17, 2009 - 07:48 PM (20 Reads)
Kokanee - Sovereign Knight The one constant in gaming is change and TFK is not an exception to that rule. We have been fortunate that throughout our history we have had quality members who are ready to step up and Darkfall is no different.

I am happy to announce that Dest Locke has accepted an offer of leadership and will join Silva and Injection as Supreme Commanders. Dest has been a rock since beta and has constantly put his ideas and effort forth to help the guild, whether it be in game or with his maps and database creations.

I believe we have good times ahead and look forward to having some fun.

Darkfall Charter
Posted by: AngryGhandi on Friday, February 20, 2009 - 03:17 AM (59 Reads)
Darkfall News Welcome to TFK Darkfall.
We are excited to start this chapter and welcome all prospective members

This charter was designed with the input of many of our members carefully considered, though many discussions both on our forums and vent. The charter lays out our expectation of all members.

Expect first that you will die, a lot.

Vent
Voice comms have become the standard for successful competitive online gaming. As such ventrillo is required for guild membership. We can provide headsets to those in need, we know budgets can certainly be tight at times. if you need one Please pm a Supreme General, there is no shame in asking, there is shame in holding back your peers by not being able to effectivly communicate. We do not judge you by your voice, age or gender. TFK is a very mature group of people.

All members should be logging into vent before logging into the game to see what they are walking into; There may be times where the spot you logged at is hostile and you could be logging into a blender unaware.

Leadership
While a Officer forum was created for the sole purpose of drawing up this charter, upon it's completion the Forum will be removed. The Darkfall chapter will be led by a Tribunal that may call shots when neccecary and guide the ingame course of action according to plans decided on by all members. Leadership in this chapter will not take place behind closed doors, but rather right on the private forum or Vent where all members input will be recognized and valued as part of our decisionmaking.

That being said, the final decision rests on the shoulders of Injection, Rask and AG. We simply ask that you respect thier task by respecting the decisions they make. Even if wrong, the heat of battle is not the time for deliberation but rather the time for focus on the current plan. If that plan fails it is easier to recognice it's fallacy if everyone was working earnestly, rather than having a scenario where a plan could have worked, but not being sure since it was not executed by all.

Ranks
We are starting anew in Darkfall and have decided to start with a clean slate. All members will start at recruit rank no matter what thier forum rank or rank in previous chapters. Once they have put in some time, shown teamwork, a consistent good attitude and ability to play well with others, they can become full members.

To that end there will only be three ranks in the chapter: Recruit, Captain(Knight) and Supreme General. All members are considered equals despite any personal situations such as overall playtime. Upon reaching the rank of Knight you are a full member in TFK and will recieve Knight forum status if not allready obtained in other TFK chapters.

Grouping
Darkfall is not kind to the soloist. While there are options for arguably successful soloing, success on a consistant scale requires group focus. All members must seek invitation to the current guild group on login.

DF's main goal is teamwork. We will grow together, learn together, fight together and die together.

Loners can no longer be welcome, they create division. If you travel, travel in packs, if you want to explore grab a friend or two.

Teamwork
You must be able to get along and you must be willing to both give and receive orders.
You must be able to shut up when need and to be ready to step up when required.

Stick together, watch each others back and support your guildie even if it means losing your shit.

Stuff is replaceable, esprit de corps and trust is not.

Loot
If you think you will ever be able to keep anything nice, you are wrong. Unless you count keeping it in a vault and staring at it now and again.
So if you cannot handle the thought of constantly losing all your shit, this is not the place for you.

Darkfall is an intensly cooperative pvp game. There is no place here for personal fortunes. The wealth one person can accumulate is insignificant when compared to what an entire guild can generate.

Loot arguments will not be tolerated in DF period. Loot can be lost at any given time; there is only futility in being attached to it. Loot in guild groups will be Master Looted by a designated person and passed out according to where it will currently have the most benefit to all. The guild will supply coin for anything you need such as skill training. The stronger the guild as a whole is, the better all will be for it.

Simply put...Your water belongs to the tribe

Recruitment
You will not see recruitment threads for The Fremen Knights. Our recruiting will be done primarily ingame and through word of mouth. We will always seek good players to join our ranks. Once up and running, Unguilded players may be invited on a regular basis to low security hunts. Quality attracts quality, it is our goal for people to notice us, be impressed by what they see and want to be a part of the good thing we have going. Guests are expected to be treated as any knight and may even recieve loot when possible. Show them who we are!

To Join TFK use the ingame function to apply and then log on to vent and ask for your invite to be accepted.

The ability to persevere.
This game will consistently shit all over you, the most important part is that you pick yourself up, dust off the shit and keep going.

It is not so important that you are highly skilled, though that is helpful, the important part is the will to keep going, laugh at adversity and keep coming. Unbreakable will.

I would compare this to George Chuvalo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Chuvalo

George was not the most skilled boxer and he did not win every fight but the people who fought him had high respect for him. Whatever you threw at him was not enough to knock him out or even knock him down, he just kept coming. Muhammad Ali said he was the toughest man he ever fought.

That is what TFK should aspire to be in DF, George Chuvalo.

This is the Achilles heel of the big guilds, make their nose bloody a few times and they start losing the will to fight.

See you on the battlefield

Rask

Darkfall Leadership
Posted by: Kokanee on Sunday, February 08, 2009 - 03:03 AM (87 Reads)
Kokanee - Sovereign Knight TFK's guild structure has traditionally led upwards to one person who has final say in all matters. The rank of First Knight has served the guild well, but a new animal is upon us in Darkfall and TFK shall adapt to best take it on.

The Darkfall Chapter's leadership group shall go a new direction and take on the in-game rank of Supreme General. This rank will join the First Knight and Council ranks into one leadership category. This will give the guild greater flexibility and in game coverage, as it will no longer come down to one person.

Angry Ghandi, Injection and Rask will be the first to take on the rank and lead the chapter into Darkfall and it goes without saying the quality of the individuals who have taken this task on. I haven't been this confident in a game for a long time and it has been great to see Knights come back into the fold. Lets make this the game that stops us looking for the next game and go make some history.

It has been some time since AC has recieved some love and attention. And now that love has come. Turbine has add a generous amount of content to the game in it's 100th patch.

We have had a lot of returning players over the last month and this new patch will give us lots of new content to keep us entertained and happy. If anyone ever wanted to come back to AC this would be an interesting time to do so. With out further delay the 100th patch:

AGE OF CONAN NEWS!
Posted by: Draelor on Sunday, June 22, 2008 - 12:11 PM (3581 Reads)
Age of Conan Greetings everyone! It has now been one month since the official launch of Age of Conan and I am pleased to report that TFK is doing very well. In this past month, we have seen a handful of our membership attain the level cap of 80 and we have built a full Tier 1 guild city in the Purple Lotus Swamp. Guild crafters have already gotten well under way and we have even made a few new friends on this server.

We just closed the first official TFK/AoC guild meeting and it is my great honor to announce that we have some new members that have gone above & beyond what is expected of them and really put their all into this guild and its progression in this game. We have a total of seven squires who are being recognized and are taking their first steps towards Knighthood. I would like to formally congratulate these seven members on their official promotion to the rank of Knight Candidate.

Baalinor - SQUIRE to KNIGHT CANDIDATE
Kido - SQUIRE to KNIGHT CANDIDATE
Alyssa - SQUIRE to KNIGHT CANDIDATE
Baddare - SQUIRE to KNIGHT CANDIDATE
Hollowsoul - SQUIRE to KNIGHT CANDIDATE

The Leadership of the Age of Conan chapter of The Fremen Knights
Posted by: Draelor on Friday, April 25, 2008 - 04:33 PM (6478 Reads)
Age of Conan The leadership of the Age of Conan chapter has largely been in place for the past six months or so, however, as always happens in any guild, things shift and come up that require more time to be spent on other things in real life. School & work schedules, honey do's and life in general tend to creep in and divert our attention elsewhere. As the First Knight of this chapter, it is my responsibility to keep this in mind and make the adjustments that are required to ensure that the membership of this chapter is represented to the fullest. I think that we have an outstanding group of members in the leadership of this chapter that have been brought together from all of the previous chapters of this guild. I did not want this chapter to be represented by only members who played AC, but rather, a mixture of leaders from AC, Shadowbane & World of Warcraft. We are here to serve and guide this new chapter to the best of our abilities and with your help, this chapter will succeed and carve its place into the history of this guild.

The official leadership of the Age of Conan chapter of The Fremen Knights is as follows:

First Knight: Draelor
Second Knight: Solarch_Arcar

Council: Iniquity - Fedaykin Captain
Council: SlyXaojin - Treasurer/Diplomacy
Council: Injection - Blademaster

Senior Knight: Darb - Fedaykin Lieutenant
Senior Knight: DaggerFella - Assistant Diplomacy

Every one of us is at your disposal and are all a simple PM away to help with any issues and concerns you may have. Thank you for placing your trust in us and we look forward to serving you all in this new chapter!

~Drae

The Path To Knighthood
Posted by: Draelor on Thursday, April 17, 2008 - 06:44 PM (5345 Reads)
Age of Conan The Fremen Knights is a very close knit and structured guild that has been around for many years and has held successful chapters in many games. The thing that I think sets us apart from a lot of other guilds, is the sense of duty, tradition, loyalty and honor. These are the qualities that I feel are what give a guild its foundation and ensures its longevity. We have some amazing members here and are always keeping our eyes open in the attempt to bring new blood into the online family of TFK. With Age of Conan, we are planning on really striving for excellence and have already inducted several new members who show incredible promise. Two of those new members have really impressed not only myself, but the entire leadership council with their initiative on the forums and their general helpfulness in helping to answer any questions asked. It is extremely rare to be granted a promotion before a game is released, but it is my great honor to do just that tonight.

I would like to single out Squires Rask & Krayt to the entire membership and congratulate them on really taking the time and going the extra mile while we have been waiting for this game to come out. These two guys have diligently devoted their time and efforts to scouring the forums and providing us with invaluable information. They have referred many new members to us and continue to impress me on a daily basis.

I am deeply honored to announce that they have started their journey towards Knighthood.

~Krayt is now officially promoted to the rank of Knight Candidate and is awarded all of the rights & privileges that accompany this rank in Age of Conan.

~Rask is now officially promoted to the rank of Knight Candidate and is awarded all of the rights & privileges that accompany this rank in Age of Conan.

Congratulations to you both! I salute you on a promotion that is well earned indeed!

TFF Pwning Arathi Basin
Posted by: Balton on Thursday, March 13, 2008 - 01:40 PM (774 Reads)
World of Warcraft News We pow wowed at our normal time on Friday PWNIGHT time of 7pm server. None of the usual suspects were there to roll out a 3 The Fremen Fedaykin (TFF) group Jables, Malidoc, and Moondree. We 3 capped a rapid victory of War Song Gultch (WSG) under 12 minutes, while this is not our record time it was fast for our 7 man Pick Up Gruop (PuG). Jabels topped the WSG damage chart and Moondree topped the healing chart.

But this is not a story about WSG, this is about Arathi Basin (AB). An instance that takes 15 people verses 15 opponents. It is a gathering of resource points across 5 scattered nodes. It has been a place of headache for many including ourselves due to the nature of PuG's mixed with organized groups (orgs). That is ofcourse until last night.

Our first AB ended after 30 mins having more then 10 PuG's from various servers, many of which would follow us to other AB's throught the night. A victory that would continue into many more. Our second AB consisted of 8 TFF and one from our main guild. This ended in another Alliance victory in 8 minutes.

Now, a little side note here. We have not been recoginzed by many of the competition due to "lacking of good gear". Also we get critisized for bringing out under geared under level 29 toons that are not even close to being tweaked out by our peers from the alliance side. This night, all of those that rolled out with the Fremen tag showed both alliance and horde what we were about. Horde core in your face pvp battleground style.

The pwnage continued into the late hours of Friday night/ Saturday morning. Our times continued; 17, 13, 10, 17, 16, and 15 all victories in succession. Our record numbers hit about 11 TFF/TFK, and noone that would be considered fully tweaked. As the night came to a close, and our numbers dwindled, we ended the night 1/0 WSG, 8/1 AB. Our loss in AB made the horde fight for every second they held nodes as it took them 31 minutes to beat us. End of that AB was 1890/2000 resources, and 3/1 nodes before it ended.

I look forward to taking on more AB's with the hope of getting some more guild verses guild battles on this BG as well as some 15 man TFF runs. We leave noone out, and we never give up!

Good Job In Gruul's Lair
Posted by: Kokanee on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 - 05:14 PM (1325 Reads)
World of Warcraft News Overall we did a good job in there. I think you all can see how quickly we will be able to clear that place now that most everyone knows how the fights go. Another good thing is I actually had to turn 2 people away from the raid, not that I didn't want to get them in but we have enough interest that we will be able to run this each week most likely.

On the gruuls fight I think everyone is trying to hard to avoid everyone else its great if you are able to find a place where no one is near you but most likely you will have 1-2 people near you. In fact i'm thinking we need to have people find and run to 1 other person to stop the bunchup's of 3-5 people. Because the shatter damage isn't that much of a problem unless it kills people we have plenty of time in almost all cases to heal the person up after.

Another thing classes like pally, mage, disc priest, (all priests should bubble themselves before the shatter). Now especially the pally and mages should never die early in this encounter bubble/bop and ice block. IF you might die from a shatter you have to use these abilities.

Overall was a good job gotta gear up a few more people some and we will clear both those encounters with np at all.

Prince and ZA This Week
Posted by: Kokanee on Thursday, January 03, 2008 - 11:46 AM (1480 Reads)
World of Warcraft News
Great Job this week guys, Prince got owned first try on a very crisp and clean attempt. Then we continued to ZA and crushed the first boss in just a few trys even though it was our first time setting foot in there and we had two undergeared healers. This is the kind of thing that we need to bring to the table every week. Great Job again and hope to see you all next week for a repeat performance.

The Fremen Knights

Fremen Lore Compliments of Silva:

We are an honour guild, and as such we don't random pk noobs, but we also don't take any nonsense, be that from an anti-pk guild or not. In AC we are/were at war with RPK guilds, neutral guilds and so called "anti-pk" guilds, we have also been friendly with a lot of those guilds over the years.

The anti-pk thing just encourages the weak to level up and gather items in peace before switching to RPK, we should focus on building a strong honour guild, and we should have no mercy for anyone who betrays us. I don't care what they claim to be, if they betray us or any of our members, we war them and crush them

A guild should be known by its reputation, not what it proclaims to be.

Official Age of Conan Chapter
Posted by: Kokanee on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 - 07:49 PM (1152 Reads)
Age of Conan There has been a lot of talk concerning Age of Conan, as it is due to be released in March of 2008.

TFK will have an official chapter in AoC and have a leadership group in place and ready to go. It is a varied group that has members who made marks in AC, Shadowbane and WoW.

First Knight- Draelor
Second Knight - Solarch/Mags

Council/Treasurer - Yakamishi
Council/War Commander - Redneckninja
Council/Diplomat - Kaige
Council/Blade Master - Will of Stone

A scary group if I ever saw one :)

I look forward to the history that this new chapter will make.

Fremen Fedaykin on the prowl!

World of Warcraft News AB: (bases held) (alliance/horde) (time in BG)
5-0 2000/20 6 mins
5-0 2000/380 13mins
4-1 2000/800 19mins
5-0 2000/140 10mins
3-2 2000/1020 23mins

WSG: (Flags Capped) (time in BG)
3-0 16mins
3-0 14mins
3-0 14mins
3-0 15mins
3-0 11mins
3-0 12mins
3-1 39mins

Most were pretty much like cutting butter with a hot knife, however, the last BG we ran was WSG 3-1 39mins. This one was particullary challenging with only 5 TFF members and 5 random PuG's. We went back and forth, and I will note a mage called Meed was a rather exceptional player, atleast our pug made him look moreso, but we will see in future BG's. They tried to bring the flag back into our base to recap, however we dropped them and zerged first score. Second score took place in mid field I believe and we scored then, as well as a second mid field cap.

The game play for TFF was top notch and continues to be the case. Many people from other servers are noticing us, and sending us PM's in game about our playstyle, success, and about our guild as a whole. I hope to see more people move from their servers to ours. We are the hardcores, the elites. PWN them in the face!

Carry on my elite brothers and sisters, and lets tear the horde a new one!

Screen shots are on the gallery.

New Era in WoW Chapter
Posted by: Kokanee on Saturday, August 18, 2007 - 07:37 PM (1483 Reads)
Kokanee - Sovereign Knight This guild and chapter have gone through many up's and downs since beta and today we begin a new era in the WoW Chapters history, with the forming of a new leadership group.

Maldobar has long been a strong leader of this guild, taking it upon himself to organize and lead our most progressive raids. He is quite to a guildmates aid and there to gather a party to complete any objective.

Maldobar has accepted the offer of First Knight and will lead the guild to new levels of progression, diversity and good times :)

The life of a First Knight can be tough, so having a quality leadership group with you is vital. To help take this guild to the next level we have two new Senior Knights joining the team.

Buckhorn and Reveaber are two of our most stalwart members who along with their loyalty and hard work, also have the knowledge and experience to not only keep TFK on the right path, but to find the best path.

With these additions are also a couple of other changes. I will be moving back to the Sovereign Knight role that oversees the guild as a whole and Shalifa will be moving back to the role of a Master Knight.

So the current WoW leadership group looks like this:

First Knight: Maldobar

Council:
Frenia

Senior Knight:
Buckhorn
Iniquity
Redtalon (Becomes active fulltime Sept 1)
Reveaber
Will of Stone
Xenosoul

There is a lot of work ahead for this guild and decisions to be made as to where the guild wants to put it's focus, so now is the time to put your ideas out there and if you are interested in a larger role take the ball and run with it, talk to a leader and ask what you can do to help out.

Congrats you guys, the future is bright indeed.

Kokanee - Sovereign Knight
It is with great pleasure that I announce our newest round of promotions.

Xeno to Senior Knight

Xeno has help many positions within the guild over the last few years in both the AC and WoW Chapters. He has a wealth of knowledge and is always there to lend a hand or cover a commrades back in battle. I look forward to gaining his perspective within leadership, which will only make the guild stronger.

Anongood to Knight

Siathoaicned to Knight

Wolfgarr to Knight

These three are all overdue for a promotion to Knight, as they have been strong members of the guild for a long time now. Knights are the backbone of TFK and with members such as these we are a strong guild indeed.

I don't know how TFK does it, but we seem to attract high caliber recruits. Quality attracts quality I guess :)

We have five Squires who have served the guild well and deserve to be promoted to Knight Candidate.

Andragaras to Knight Candidate

Bigsam to Knight Candidate

Murmur to Knight Candidate

Miidge to Knight Candidate

Oce to Knight Candidate

Congrats everyone, well deserved :)

On a side note I leave tomorrow for a two week vacation, so I wish everyone well and I look forward to getting back in game, as the last week has been a bear preparing to go.

Maldobar, will be holding down the First Knight position while I am away, so I predict a very successful two weeks :)
