AGE OF CONAN NEWS!
Posted by: Draelor on Sunday, June 22, 2008 - 12:11 PM (423 Reads)
Age of Conan Greetings everyone! It has now been one month since the official launch of Age of Conan and I am pleased to report that TFK is doing very well. In this past month, we have seen a handful of our membership attain the level cap of 80 and we have built a full Tier 1 guild city in the Purple Lotus Swamp. Guild crafters have already gotten well under way and we have even made a few new friends on this server.

We just closed the first official TFK/AoC guild meeting and it is my great honor to announce that we have some new members that have gone above & beyond what is expected of them and really put their all into this guild and its progression in this game. We have a total of seven squires who are being recognized and are taking their first steps towards Knighthood. I would like to formally congratulate these seven members on their official promotion to the rank of Knight Candidate.

Baalinor - SQUIRE to KNIGHT CANDIDATE
Kido - SQUIRE to KNIGHT CANDIDATE
Alyssa - SQUIRE to KNIGHT CANDIDATE
Baddare - SQUIRE to KNIGHT CANDIDATE
Hollowsoul - SQUIRE to KNIGHT CANDIDATE
Bobio - SQUIRE to KNIGHT CANDIDATE
Viconia - SQUIRE to KNIGHT CANDIDATE

The Leadership of the Age of Conan chapter of The Fremen Knights
Posted by: Draelor on Friday, April 25, 2008 - 04:33 PM (4551 Reads)
Age of Conan The leadership of the Age of Conan chapter has largely been in place for the past six months or so, however, as always happens in any guild, things shift and come up that require more time to be spent on other things in real life. School & work schedules, honey do's and life in general tend to creep in and divert our attention elsewhere. As the First Knight of this chapter, it is my responsibility to keep this in mind and make the adjustments that are required to ensure that the membership of this chapter is represented to the fullest. I think that we have an outstanding group of members in the leadership of this chapter that have been brought together from all of the previous chapters of this guild. I did not want this chapter to be represented by only members who played AC, but rather, a mixture of leaders from AC, Shadowbane & World of Warcraft. We are here to serve and guide this new chapter to the best of our abilities and with your help, this chapter will succeed and carve its place into the history of this guild.

The official leadership of the Age of Conan chapter of The Fremen Knights is as follows:

First Knight: Draelor
Second Knight: Solarch_Arcar

Council: Iniquity - Fedaykin Captain
Council: SlyXaojin - Treasurer/Diplomacy
Council: Injection - Blademaster

Senior Knight: Darb - Fedaykin Lieutenant
Senior Knight: DaggerFella - Assistant Diplomacy

Every one of us is at your disposal and are all a simple PM away to help with any issues and concerns you may have. Thank you for placing your trust in us and we look forward to serving you all in this new chapter!

~Drae

The Path To Knighthood
Posted by: Draelor on Thursday, April 17, 2008 - 06:44 PM (4108 Reads)
Age of Conan The Fremen Knights is a very close knit and structured guild that has been around for many years and has held successful chapters in many games. The thing that I think sets us apart from a lot of other guilds, is the sense of duty, tradition, loyalty and honor. These are the qualities that I feel are what give a guild its foundation and ensures its longevity. We have some amazing members here and are always keeping our eyes open in the attempt to bring new blood into the online family of TFK. With Age of Conan, we are planning on really striving for excellence and have already inducted several new members who show incredible promise. Two of those new members have really impressed not only myself, but the entire leadership council with their initiative on the forums and their general helpfulness in helping to answer any questions asked. It is extremely rare to be granted a promotion before a game is released, but it is my great honor to do just that tonight.

I would like to single out Squires Rask & Krayt to the entire membership and congratulate them on really taking the time and going the extra mile while we have been waiting for this game to come out. These two guys have diligently devoted their time and efforts to scouring the forums and providing us with invaluable information. They have referred many new members to us and continue to impress me on a daily basis.

I am deeply honored to announce that they have started their journey towards Knighthood.

~Krayt is now officially promoted to the rank of Knight Candidate and is awarded all of the rights & privileges that accompany this rank in Age of Conan.

~Rask is now officially promoted to the rank of Knight Candidate and is awarded all of the rights & privileges that accompany this rank in Age of Conan.

Congratulations to you both! I salute you on a promotion that is well earned indeed!

TFF Pwning Arathi Basin
Posted by: Balton on Thursday, March 13, 2008 - 01:40 PM (339 Reads)
World of Warcraft News We pow wowed at our normal time on Friday PWNIGHT time of 7pm server. None of the usual suspects were there to roll out a 3 The Fremen Fedaykin (TFF) group Jables, Malidoc, and Moondree. We 3 capped a rapid victory of War Song Gultch (WSG) under 12 minutes, while this is not our record time it was fast for our 7 man Pick Up Gruop (PuG). Jabels topped the WSG damage chart and Moondree topped the healing chart.

But this is not a story about WSG, this is about Arathi Basin (AB). An instance that takes 15 people verses 15 opponents. It is a gathering of resource points across 5 scattered nodes. It has been a place of headache for many including ourselves due to the nature of PuG's mixed with organized groups (orgs). That is ofcourse until last night.

Our first AB ended after 30 mins having more then 10 PuG's from various servers, many of which would follow us to other AB's throught the night. A victory that would continue into many more. Our second AB consisted of 8 TFF and one from our main guild. This ended in another Alliance victory in 8 minutes.

Now, a little side note here. We have not been recoginzed by many of the competition due to "lacking of good gear". Also we get critisized for bringing out under geared under level 29 toons that are not even close to being tweaked out by our peers from the alliance side. This night, all of those that rolled out with the Fremen tag showed both alliance and horde what we were about. Horde core in your face pvp battleground style.

The pwnage continued into the late hours of Friday night/ Saturday morning. Our times continued; 17, 13, 10, 17, 16, and 15 all victories in succession. Our record numbers hit about 11 TFF/TFK, and noone that would be considered fully tweaked. As the night came to a close, and our numbers dwindled, we ended the night 1/0 WSG, 8/1 AB. Our loss in AB made the horde fight for every second they held nodes as it took them 31 minutes to beat us. End of that AB was 1890/2000 resources, and 3/1 nodes before it ended.

I look forward to taking on more AB's with the hope of getting some more guild verses guild battles on this BG as well as some 15 man TFF runs. We leave noone out, and we never give up!

Good Job In Gruul's Lair
Posted by: Kokanee on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 - 05:14 PM (863 Reads)
World of Warcraft News Overall we did a good job in there. I think you all can see how quickly we will be able to clear that place now that most everyone knows how the fights go. Another good thing is I actually had to turn 2 people away from the raid, not that I didn't want to get them in but we have enough interest that we will be able to run this each week most likely.

On the gruuls fight I think everyone is trying to hard to avoid everyone else its great if you are able to find a place where no one is near you but most likely you will have 1-2 people near you. In fact i'm thinking we need to have people find and run to 1 other person to stop the bunchup's of 3-5 people. Because the shatter damage isn't that much of a problem unless it kills people we have plenty of time in almost all cases to heal the person up after.

Another thing classes like pally, mage, disc priest, (all priests should bubble themselves before the shatter). Now especially the pally and mages should never die early in this encounter bubble/bop and ice block. IF you might die from a shatter you have to use these abilities.

Overall was a good job gotta gear up a few more people some and we will clear both those encounters with np at all.

Prince and ZA This Week
Posted by: Kokanee on Thursday, January 03, 2008 - 11:46 AM (761 Reads)
World of Warcraft News
Great Job this week guys, Prince got owned first try on a very crisp and clean attempt. Then we continued to ZA and crushed the first boss in just a few trys even though it was our first time setting foot in there and we had two undergeared healers. This is the kind of thing that we need to bring to the table every week. Great Job again and hope to see you all next week for a repeat performance.

The Fremen Knights
Posted by: Kokanee on Thursday, December 13, 2007 - 05:01 PM (656 Reads)
Fremen Lore Compliments of Silva:

We are an honour guild, and as such we don't random pk noobs, but we also don't take any nonsense, be that from an anti-pk guild or not. In AC we are/were at war with RPK guilds, neutral guilds and so called "anti-pk" guilds, we have also been friendly with a lot of those guilds over the years.

The anti-pk thing just encourages the weak to level up and gather items in peace before switching to RPK, we should focus on building a strong honour guild, and we should have no mercy for anyone who betrays us. I don't care what they claim to be, if they betray us or any of our members, we war them and crush them

A guild should be known by its reputation, not what it proclaims to be.

Official Age of Conan Chapter

Age of Conan There has been a lot of talk concerning Age of Conan, as it is due to be released in March of 2008.

TFK will have an official chapter in AoC and have a leadership group in place and ready to go. It is a varied group that has members who made marks in AC, Shadowbane and WoW.

First Knight- Draelor
Second Knight - Solarch/Mags

Council/Treasurer - Yakamishi
Council/War Commander - Redneckninja
Council/Diplomat - Kaige
Council/Blade Master - Will of Stone

A scary group if I ever saw one :)

I look forward to the history that this new chapter will make.

Fremen Fedaykin on the prowl!
Posted by: Darb on Saturday, September 15, 2007 - 11:29 PM (996 Reads)
World of Warcraft News AB: (bases held) (alliance/horde) (time in BG)
5-0 2000/20 6 mins
5-0 2000/380 13mins
4-1 2000/800 19mins
5-0 2000/140 10mins
3-2 2000/1020 23mins

WSG: (Flags Capped) (time in BG)
3-0 16mins
3-0 14mins
3-0 14mins
3-0 15mins
3-0 11mins
3-0 12mins
3-1 39mins

Most were pretty much like cutting butter with a hot knife, however, the last BG we ran was WSG 3-1 39mins. This one was particullary challenging with only 5 TFF members and 5 random PuG's. We went back and forth, and I will note a mage called Meed was a rather exceptional player, atleast our pug made him look moreso, but we will see in future BG's. They tried to bring the flag back into our base to recap, however we dropped them and zerged first score. Second score took place in mid field I believe and we scored then, as well as a second mid field cap.

The game play for TFF was top notch and continues to be the case. Many people from other servers are noticing us, and sending us PM's in game about our playstyle, success, and about our guild as a whole. I hope to see more people move from their servers to ours. We are the hardcores, the elites. PWN them in the face!

Carry on my elite brothers and sisters, and lets tear the horde a new one!

Screen shots are on the gallery.

New Era in WoW Chapter
Posted by: Kokanee on Saturday, August 18, 2007 - 07:37 PM (1035 Reads)
Kokanee - Sovereign Knight This guild and chapter have gone through many up's and downs since beta and today we begin a new era in the WoW Chapters history, with the forming of a new leadership group.

Maldobar has long been a strong leader of this guild, taking it upon himself to organize and lead our most progressive raids. He is quite to a guildmates aid and there to gather a party to complete any objective.

Maldobar has accepted the offer of First Knight and will lead the guild to new levels of progression, diversity and good times :)

The life of a First Knight can be tough, so having a quality leadership group with you is vital. To help take this guild to the next level we have two new Senior Knights joining the team.

Buckhorn and Reveaber are two of our most stalwart members who along with their loyalty and hard work, also have the knowledge and experience to not only keep TFK on the right path, but to find the best path.

With these additions are also a couple of other changes. I will be moving back to the Sovereign Knight role that oversees the guild as a whole and Shalifa will be moving back to the role of a Master Knight.

So the current WoW leadership group looks like this:

First Knight: Maldobar

Council:
Frenia

Senior Knight:
Buckhorn
Iniquity
Redtalon (Becomes active fulltime Sept 1)
Reveaber
Will of Stone
Xenosoul

There is a lot of work ahead for this guild and decisions to be made as to where the guild wants to put it's focus, so now is the time to put your ideas out there and if you are interested in a larger role take the ball and run with it, talk to a leader and ask what you can do to help out.

Congrats you guys, the future is bright indeed.

Kokanee - Sovereign Knight
It is with great pleasure that I announce our newest round of promotions.

Xeno to Senior Knight

Xeno has help many positions within the guild over the last few years in both the AC and WoW Chapters. He has a wealth of knowledge and is always there to lend a hand or cover a commrades back in battle. I look forward to gaining his perspective within leadership, which will only make the guild stronger.

Anongood to Knight

Siathoaicned to Knight

Wolfgarr to Knight

These three are all overdue for a promotion to Knight, as they have been strong members of the guild for a long time now. Knights are the backbone of TFK and with members such as these we are a strong guild indeed.

I don't know how TFK does it, but we seem to attract high caliber recruits. Quality attracts quality I guess :)

We have five Squires who have served the guild well and deserve to be promoted to Knight Candidate.

Andragaras to Knight Candidate

Bigsam to Knight Candidate

Murmur to Knight Candidate

Miidge to Knight Candidate

Oce to Knight Candidate

Congrats everyone, well deserved :)

On a side note I leave tomorrow for a two week vacation, so I wish everyone well and I look forward to getting back in game, as the last week has been a bear preparing to go.

Maldobar, will be holding down the First Knight position while I am away, so I predict a very successful two weeks :)

Karazhan Raid

World of Warcraft News So our first serious (With a real OT not one who was also main healing with 0 points in prot) attempt in Kara with a real class balance went very well.

On thursday we started relatively on time we cleared Attumen, Moroes, Opera, Curator, and Chess. Very smooth 1st attempt on all the bosses. On Friday we killed Maiden, Shade, and Illhoof. Again very smooth overall, Maiden 1st attempt, Shade took 3-4 attempts, Illhoof took 2 attempts. We tried prince on saturday night got some good attempts in but we were unable to down him. However come Sunday afternoon we were able to get a class balance and kill him 1st attempt. Drops were:

http://www.thottbot.com/i29759 - Bigsam
http://www.thottbot.com/i29759 - Catarix
http://www.thottbot.com/i28763 - Zufair

One of the tings that impressed me the most was. No one got down when we wiped, we quickly rezed up and continued confident that we would clear the boss the next attempt. Very good job everyone i'm confident we will clear Kara every week.

Asheron's Call News

It is an honor to promote the following Fremen who have proven themselves in the face of adversity.

Villian, who has been with our guild for a long time, is always willing to help out, be it with quests, pvp, or anything he can do to help a fellow guild mate succeed. He was once a Senior Knight and did us well, and he is once again regaining that position.

Bast has a long history with me, she was my first patron and she showed her true colors then and they still shine on today. She is a very loyal friend who is always willing to help out. She holds all the qualities a knight should and it is an honor to promote her to full Knight status. In addition, she is also gaining the title of Blademaster. She has experience from her previous guild in recruiting and she has a knack for weeding out those unsavory folks.

Draagon is also gaining the rank of Knight. He has always stood by me and defended no matter the odds. He has shown that he has what it takes to be a Knight.

Atrow was new to AC not to long ago. He is gaining respect in the guild as he learns the in's and out's of darktide and he is gaining experience in pvp as well. Atrow has earned my trust and has honored the Fremen way, so he is being promoted to Knights candidate.

Congratulations to you all!

Kokanee - Sovereign Knight
The strength of a guild can quite often be determined by the type of recruits it attracts. TFK has been fortunate to attract quality people, not just powerful characters and that is what has sustained us through some tough times. Our current group of Squires has shown loyalty through tough times, when it would have been easy to jump ship, but they stood their ground and many have become an intrical part of the guild.

As well as a strong group of Squires we have a Knight Candidate that has consistantly showed his metal and deserves to be called a Knight.

Fnordo is as steady as they come. Self reliant and willing to help others he took the advice of his Patron, Thehead, to heart and is the kind of person that makes the guild strong. Congrats Fnordo you are well deserving of Knighthood.

Members Promoted to Knight Candidate:

Drunkmonk to Knight Candidate

Elwe to Knight Candidate

Ghanimo to Knight Candidate

Gillin to Knight Candidate

Ivanka to Knight Candidate

Maravix to Knight Candidate

Samina to Knight Candidate

Vartas to Knight Candidate

Congrats and great work everyone :)

B'Rabbit Accepts the Mantle of Leadership

Kokanee - Sovereign Knight
It is a good day for the AC Chapter, as B'Rabbit takes her spot as First Knight. B'Rabbit has shown tremendous leadership and has helped guide the guild through it's ups and downs the last year. She has been the force behind the guild for some time now and rightly takes her spot as First Knight, where she will be free to make the decisions needed to create growth.

Hats off to you Rabbit, it is a tough position, but can also be a very rewarding on.

Cheers

New Leadership Formed
Posted by: Kokanee on Monday, June 11, 2007 - 03:23 PM (835 Reads)
Kokanee - Sovereign Knight It has been a tough week for everyone in TFK, so I thank those that have shown the strength to see the other side. It has been great to see members step up and support the guild and help rally the troops, it feels good that people care about TFK and the people in it.

Maldobar has accepted a seat on Council and will take on the position of Raid Coordinator. He has been organizing many of our raids for some time now and has the knowledge and experience to lead the way.

Shalifa will move over from his position of Master Knight and back on to Council. Always good to have a guy on Council that has lead TFK into a war before :)

Will of Stone will be joining leadering as a Senior Knight and will take on the role of Blademaster (Recruitment Cooridinator). I have always felt this is the most important position in the guild, as he is the filter keeping the TFK ranks clean.

Iniquity has also accecpted an offer of Senior Knight and will lead us into the Battlegrounds to take on the Horde and feed a little bloodlust :)

The man with the toughest job of all may well go to Redtalon, who will be taking it to the Horde in World PvP. It is tough in WoW to make World PvP relative, but to me PvP has always meant more when you can actually inflict harm on an opponent or at least be a real pain in their ass and World PvP is where you can do that.

Along with those joining leadership we have two members that deserve to be promoted to the full rank of Knight.

Solarch / Kyton has a long history with TFK and has once more come full circle to the rank of Knight.

Malcrion also has a long and colorful history with TFK and is back where he belongs, at the rank of Knight.

I look forward in the coming days and weeks to get to know our many Squires, as really that is what the rank of Squire is, a time for a person to get to know the people in the guild and for the guild to get to know them.

One such person is Catarix. A wealth of knowledge and ready to help the guild however asked, Catarix starts down the path of Knighthood.

So TFK Leadership currently stands at:

Kokanee - First Knight

Frenia - Council
Maldobar - Council (Raid Coordinator)
Shalifa - Council

Iniquity - Senior Knight (BG Lead)
Redtalon - Senior Knight (Fedaykin)
Will of Stone - Senior Knight (Blademaster)

Time for members to take the bull by the horns and lead some attunements, help Maldobar by leading some bosses or gather and party and go kill some Horde :)

We finish turning the corner today and start down a new road and a new adventure, writing new history.

World of Warcraft News You guys know you love my big posts, well here is one packed full of info, will break it up to make it easier to read.

Karazhan Raiding

We are going to start Offical Guild runs of Karazhan either next week or the week after that will be lead by Capt. I am very much looking forward to getting in there as a guild and cleaning house. For those people that don't get in on the initial runs, do not worry, once the first group makes decent progress I am sure we will try and form up a second group. Warlune has offered to do a weekend run once we are at that point, so this is also a possibility for those weekend people who cannot attend weekday raids. Remember, we are not in a rush, we are not in a race, we are here to have fun.

So, between now and the start of those runs everyone needs to do the following, which I cannot emphasize enough!

- Get your Karazhan attunements done!!! I will be leading groups through Black Morass over the next two weeks, please do what you can to get groups to complete the Shadow Lab and other fragment portions between now and then.

- GEAR! Gear, gear, and yea... More gear... Karazhan requires heavy healing and heavy DPS, so make sure you are working on your Dungeon Set 3 pieces and attending the Heroics run by the Officers and other people. Getting these does and picking up the equipment is a must for our success.

- Plugins! Get your CTRaid, Threatmeter, Decursive, and other raiding plugins working! I think two weeks is plenty notice to get those installed.

Gems for Your Gear

For those of you who have gear that has sockets, make sure you are getting gems put in those. I took JC to help with getting free cuts for the guild and have spent thousands of gold on designs for the cuts now. Between Zorachus, Zylaa, and I we have a lot of the blue gem cuts that are available. The three of us keep the roster site up to date with the cuts we have, so please use that to see what we can cut that you can use.

This offer is good for everyone... Any gem cut that uses a green gem, I will provide the gem and cut for FREE. Just send me an IG mail with the cut request and the gems will be sent right back to you. Anything that requires a blue gem, since they are costly, once you have the gem send it to me or flag me down IG and I will cut it for you.

These gems make a BIG difference on your equipment, so make sure you are getting these done, even more so if you are raiding!

Old Blademaster Steps Down, New Blademasters Step Up

I would like to first give Eryk a big thanks for the time he has put in as Blademaster in this Chapter. He put a lot of effort into the job and oversaw the recruitment of many people. He has asked to step down as Blademaster due to being unable to give the time that is require of the job. Thanks again for your hard work Eryk.

In his place Crevin and Cyali will be sharing the job and duties. Congrats to both of you and thanks for stepping up to take on the role.

Promotions

These group of people have shown their dedication to the guild and desire to move on up in the ranks. Congrats to everyone and thanks for your effort and loyalty to TFK.

Knight Vanguard Rank to be Removed

The rank of Knight Vanguard was created back at the start of our days in MC for those who needed to be in Officer chat for raiding purposes, but were not apart of the Officer Core. With the evolving game, the use and function of this Rank has long since past, therefore we are removing KV from our ranking structure. Fingnome and Holyslayn, our remaining KV's, will return to the rank of Knight. While this is techinically a demotion in the games term of rank, they are by no means recieving an Official demotion and will continue to serve the guild as they have.

Group Calendar Plugin

In order to help better organize and coordinate our raids, 5 man groups, and other guild events, we will start the use of this Group Calendar plugin. This plugin allows all members of TFK to create any range of event or instance run, and manage the attendance, all while being in game. When you log in, you can look to see what events people have entered and sign up to them. Our hopes is that this will help to get some more organization in our runs, rather than spending 3 hours trying to do a guild pug with spamming /g all night.

Those of you who run Uniuploader for the Roster site, this plugin will be pushed down to your computer the next time you reboot or click the "Sync" button. If you do not run the Uniuploder, then you can download it manually. Shortly after this post goes up, there will be a new sticky on the Public forums detailing the use, setup, and links to download the plugin from.

NOTE : There have been reports of the plugin causing some errors and conflicts with other plugins, even causing disconnects after 5 mins time. While these cases seem to be rare, if they happen to you, try to resolve the conflict or simply disable the plugin. The Officers have been testing this plugin for a couple of weeks, and only one person had minor issues.

I ask that everyone PLEASE download and install this plugin, this is a BIG tool that I believe will help the guild a lot in the end. It takes 2 mins to download and copy into your addons folder, please make the effort to help the guild use this tool. It only works if we can get everytone to participate.

Thanks for reading and congrats again to the promotees!

World of Warcraft News

With everyone busy with the Expansion, it has been awhile since we have had some promotions.  All of these people below have stood out in our time with Burning Crusade, taking time to help guildies, joining in runs, killing Horde and overall being a great member of TFK.

Two people I want to everyone to pay special attention to this month are Rysc and Zylaa, in the last week these two have been busting their asses to get people attuned for Karazhan.  Everything from Shadow Lab, Old Hillsbrad, to Black Moross.  A lot of those attuned now have these two to thank, including myself.  Thanks from me and the entire guild guys, keep up the good work.

Grats to all!

Xenosoul Accepts First Knight in AC
Posted by: Kokanee on Monday, January 29, 2007 - 08:55 PM (965 Reads)
Kokanee - Sovereign Knight
Class is the word most widely used to describe Sly Xaojin and it is very fitting in deed. He joined the chapter and immediately made an impact with his in-game tenacity and dedication toward helping his guild mates and putting the hurt on TFK's enemies. It was apparent that he would make a good leader and he didn't disappoint.

Sly lead the guild through good and bad, but due to real life commitments his in-game time has become harder to come by, so he has made the tough decision to pass the torch. He has been a class act through his rise and I appreciate his putting TFK first in how he has gone about passing the torch as well.

Xenosoul holds many of the same attributes, class, integrity and a love of the battlefield and has accepted the offer of First Knight. Xeno has the experience of multiple chapters and many battles to help guide TFK into the future. I know he will do TFK proud and continue on the tradition that this guild has forged throughout the years.

Congrats Xeno, it looks good on you :)
